New guidance aimed at improving health and safety during the turnaround
between a civil aircraft landing and taking off has been drawn up by the Health
and Safety Executive.
Aircraft Turnaround includes advice on the roles and responsibilities of
companies involved, the selection, control and monitoring of contractors and
the organisation of the turnaround itself.

The guidance stressed that a contractor must be satisfied the organisation
is able to carry out the turnaround safely, that it has control of the
procedure and that it can monitor performance.
