Hamburg’s Vocational School for Gastronomy and Nutrition launches doner kebab production course

In recognition of the snack of choice for late-night revellers, Hamburg’s Vocational School for Gastronomy and Nutrition has introduced a new course in doner kebab production.

The course is part of a government initiative in Germany to encourage young immigrants to get professional training and improve their chances of getting a job.

A school spokesman said: “The doner kebab is a work of art created by a professional and undervalued by drunken philistines.”

The first class of students – the majority of which are expected to be Turkish – will qualify with a certificate in ‘meat-processing with doner kebab production specialisation’.
