Beverley Shears, the HR
director for South West Trains, will be guest editor of the 15 June 2004 issue
of Personnel Today.
As HR director for the largest
and busiest commuter train operating company in the UK, Shears brings a wealth
of experience to the paper.
In her five years at the
company, she has put in place a cohesive and coherent people strategy,
delivering improved business performance and customer service in an extremely
challenging environment. Added to this, she scooped HR Director of the Year at
last year’s Personnel Today Awards.
Shears believes employee
commitment and advocacy is essential to the future success of the business so a
great deal of work has taken place to involve and engage employees in
determining future internal communication strategies.
