Homelessness charity Broadway sets up HR consultancy Real People as a social enterprise

by Gareth Vorster 25 May 2007

Homelessness charity Broadway has launched its first social enterprise providing human resources support and consultancy.

Real People will be run by current HR director at Broadway, Helen Giles, who leads the charity’s seven-strong HR team.

The new consultancy has already signed clients including housing associations, membership agencies, and new media firms, and will be officially launched next month to serve all industries and organisations.

All profits made by Real People will go back to the charity Broadway, which delivers a range of services for homeless adults across London.

“We had established a reputation at Broadway for delivering high quality training, people management and HR practices,” said Giles.

“As this reputation spread, it became evident that our knowledge would be welcomed by other organizations that want to get more out of the people side of their business, and so the idea of Real People was born.”
