HomeServe group HR director post axed

by Helen Gilbert 7 Nov 2008
by Helen Gilbert 7 Nov 2008

A group HR director post has been scrapped at home emergency insurance cover firm HomeServe.

It follows the departure of the firm’s former HR director Martin Sawkins on 10 October, who left to join Rentokil Initial as group HR director.

A HomeServe spokeswoman would not reveal the salary of the axed post, but said Sawkin’s responsibilities were now being divided between two other HR directors at the company – Lorraine Nicholls and Mike Winstone.

She told Personnel Today: “We decided to divide his responsibilities between two senior HR directors in the business as we felt that they were ideal and experienced to drive the people agenda forward across the business. The individuals report to board members in each of our UK divisions and are therefore very close to the business vision and strategy.”

HomeServe has 5,000 employees.
