House of Fraser halts final salary pension scheme

Department
store group House of Fraser has frozen its final salary pension scheme for new
employees, according to the Daily Mail.

The
paper said the freeze is only temporary – the scheme is being reviewed while
the company decides whether it can afford to keep it.

The
group’s pre-tax profits rose from £17.9m to £22.8m last year. Dividends were
held at 5.5p.
