Employment specialist The HR Dept has announced the promotion of Tom Doherty to General Manager of the company’s Licensee Expansion Programme. Tom will be responsible for interviewing and recruiting human resources and health and safety professionals as licensees to set up and run the company’s new HR Dept and HS Dept offices around the UK and supporting them through their development and growth.

Tom joined the South Gloucestershire-based company as an administrator four years ago on a placement from the University of the West of England, from which he graduated in 2007 with an Honours Degree in Business Studies. He has since completed a management training programme and gained further HR experience.
The HR Dept acts as an in-house HR department for SMEs delivering advice and helping employers cope with every type of employment issue, whilst The HS Dept provides health and safety expertise to businesses. There are currently 29 HR Dept offices around the country – five of which have opened in the last twelve months – and four HS Dept offices
