HR is the fifth most outsourced function, according to a
report.
The Outsourcing Survey 2001 by solicitors Tarlo Lyons
shows that HR accounts for eight per cent of the outsourcing market.
IT systems and support is the most outsourced function on 28
per cent.
The majority of companies say that the reason for
outsourcing is to save money and to provide a better service to clients and to
compensate against a lack of internal expertise.
Many respondents say that the biggest outsourcing problem is
the “failure to live up to expectations”, although more than three-quarters of
respondents are satisfied that they are getting good or extremely good value
for money with no respondents claiming they are getting poor value.
The survey polled 71 companies.
