A round-up of the latest HR appointments.
Telecommunications company Telefónica has appointed Simon Linares as its group HR director for Telefónica Digital, a global unit aimed at leading the company’s digital growth strategy. In his role, Linares will spearhead a recruitment drive and will have responsibility for staff located in different global locations. Previously, Linares was group HR director for Telefónica Europe.
Carole Jones has taken on the London-based position of director of global HR strategy and organisational development at insurance company Aviva. In this newly created role, Jones will be in charge of developing people strategies that apply across Aviva’s international business. Jones previously led HR for Aviva’s North America region.

Professional services firm Deloitte has appointed Carole Crossley to lead its growth and markets team in the global employer services group, part of the firm’s tax practice. Crossley has held senior HR leadership roles at BP and Lloyds Banking Group, leading major transformation and change management projects covering HR service delivery, process improvement and risk management.
Karen Wall has been given the role of executive director of talent, culture, communication and marketing at news publisher Northcliffe Media. She joins the company from Metro newspaper, where she worked as assistant managing director. In her role at Metro, she championed people development and helped the company become an Investors in People company in 2006.
