More than half of job seekers (53%) admit that they are poorly prepared for interviews, according to a survey.
One in five job hunters also said they had very little knowledge of the employer when they attend an interview and 7% said they had no knowledge at all.
The online poll of 134 employees by recruitment company OfficeTeam found that less than one-quarter (22%) of job seekers felt they were adequately prepared and know enough about the company when going for a job interview.
Victoria Sprott, regional director for OfficeTeam, said: “It is important that applicants do as much research as possible prior to going for an interview.

“It is particularly worrying to see the results of this recent poll which show that the majority of candidates go into interview situations under prepared. Being armed with an in-depth understanding of both the business and the industry in which they operate is the best way to develop rapport and demonstrate your value to prospective employers.”
