John Lewis employees remained positive about their job security this year despite the recession, an internal survey has found.
More than 60,000 employees took part in the annual survey, and while the number who felt safe in their employment fell by 7% on the previous year, 80% still felt their jobs were secure in 2009.

The findings were revealed in the organisation’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) report 2009 A Natural Progression.
The document also sets out the company’s refreshed CSR governance structure, and provides updates on its commitments to dealing with suppliers, selling responsibly sourced quality products, making a positive difference to the communities in which it does business, and reducing its impact on the environment.
