KnowledgePool wins recognition as leading training provider

by Personnel Today 5 May 2010
by Personnel Today 5 May 2010

For the fourth successive year, the US-based learning portal TrainingIndustry.com has named KnowledgePool, the UK market leader in managed learning, as one of the global training outsourcing industry’s Top 20 providers.

TrainingIndustry.com continuously reviews companies that provide training business process outsourcing (BPO) services and conducts an annual assessment to determine suppliers’ expertise, experience and capabilities, to determine those best suited for world-class outsourcing engagements.

Ken Taylor, Chief Operating Officer of Training Industry, Inc, said: “The ‘Top 20’ list recognises the leading training outsourcing companies for their high quality services and comprehensive capabilities. All have demonstrated expertise and experience in managing major BPO engagements as well as creating a significant impact on the industry. This year’s list shows the continued strengthening of the leaders in the Training BPO space and broadening of their international capabilities.”

Doug Harward, Chief Executive Officer of Training Industry, Inc, added: “After a difficult 2009, these companies stand out not only for their capabilities but for their performance. The ‘Top 20 list should help buy‐side companies make informed decisions when searching for the right training outsourcing partner.”

KnowledgePool is one of only three companies based in the UK to make the Top 20. The others are based in the US and India. TrainingIndustry.com says that because of the diversity of services included in training outsourcing engagements, it makes no attempt to rank the ‘Top 20’.

Al Bird, KnowledgePool’s learning consultancy director, said: “We’re delighted to be recognised for the fourth year running as one of the world’s leading providers of training outsourcing. This recognition acknowledges KnowledgePool’s recent major contract awards, innovative contributions to the industry and continued demand for our unique vendor-independent offering to help clients get the best value from their training investments.”

With over 40 years’ experience in the training industry, KnowledgePool is Britain’s biggest buyer of learning and development. Over the past five years, it has provided training for over 400,000 people in large companies and government departments. Working in partnership with in-house learning and development teams, it secures best value for client training budgets through specialist training administration, supplier management, learning consultancy and evaluation services.

In 2006, TrainingIndustry.com selected KnowledgePool as one of its top 10 global emerging leaders in training outsourcing, after judging that the company was capable of providing world-class outsourcing engagements.
