The
Government is investing a further £12.25m in its national training advice line
Learndirect over the next two years.
The
funding comes on top of the £11.25m the Government has already provided for
2002-2003.
Ivan
Lewis, the adult skills minister, announced the move as Learndirect passed the
landmark of 5 million calls since its launch in 1998.
Learndirect
offers people free advice on training and career changes, providing guidance on
more than 600,000 courses around the UK.
It
currently receives an average of 20,000 calls on the hotline and around 6
million course searches have been made on the website since 2000.
