Local government members of the T&G union have accepted the
local government’s pay offer of 3.5 per cent.
The 100,000 employees voted by a 6:1 majority to accept the
offer – the final offer from local government employers.
The ‘bottom loading’ deal will result in an increase of more
than 4 per cent for 270,000 of the lowest paid staff .
Jack Dromey, T&G’s lead negotiator, said, “This outcomes
is a just settlement, defending the living standards of all 1.2 million public
servants in local government and delivering increases of 4 per cent plus for
the 270,000 lowest paid.”
