• People who live in London and the South East earn the highest average
wages in Great Britain.
At £520 per week, people living in the capital earn the most followed by
those living in the South East who before tax are paid £423.20 per week.
Both figures are way ahead of other regions where the highest figure is
£375.60 for the West Midlands £372.60 in the North West.
The lowest weekly wage is in the North East people earn an average of
£349.60.
The figures are broadly in line with house prices nationwide. Latest figures
show a booming property market in London and the South East, contrasting with a
number of depressed areas in the regions.
