One
in five employees in the UK think they work for ‘the boss from hell’, according
to a survey by Lloyds TSB and campaign group Working Families.
The
survey found that London is the place where the nastiest bosses ply their
trades and just over half of the 1,000 respondents claimed they could do a
better job than their boss.
The
poll also showed that staff who have an inspirational, dream manager are most
likely to work in Wales or the Midlands. In the West Country, two out of three
employees believe their boss is a ‘close friend’.
Fiona
Cannon, head of equality and diversity at Lloyds TSB, said: "One of the
keys to being a good boss is to understand the importance of work-life
balance."

"People
work hard and they get fed up if their boss doesn’t recognise that they have a
life outside of work," she said.
