The
Learning and Skills Council (LSC) is investigating the amount of red tape at
all the organisations it funds, in a bid to lower bureaucracy in the public
sector.
The
Bureaucracy Taskforce, headed by Sir George Sweeney, has also added new
representatives from business, work-based learning, further education and the
voluntary sector.
The
unit will now focus on cutting the bureaucratic burdens inherited by the LSC –
particularly in the work-based learning sector.
Starting
next month, the Bureaucracy Taskforce is hosting a number of consultation
events offering advice on cutting red tape.
