Luxury Yorkshire hotel apartments offer flexible alternative for business users

A £70m designer village on the edge of the Saltaire World Heritage Centre in Yorkshire and just minutes from the world leading Bradford Media Museum is offering luxury hotel apartments as a flexible, cost effective alternative to staying in hotels.

So far 22 one and two-bedroom apartments and duplexes at the award-winning Victoria Mills development in Shipley have been made available, providing corporate clients with a flexible combination of stylish home-from-home accommodation and outstanding 24-hour concierge facilities.

Services include free secure on-site parking, transfers to Leeds Bradford International Airport, ironing, dry cleaning, car washing, shopping and even a meal cooked in advance of arrival.

The development is two-minute walk from Shipley train station, a 10-15 minute train ride from the thriving cities of Bradford and Leeds, and a short drive or bus ride away from the Yorkshire Dales.

Whether booking for one night or six months, all guests have full use of the mill community’s facilities, including free internet access, beauty studio, gym, sauna, tennis court, café car, convenience store and 5.5 acres of landscaped gardens on the banks of the River Aire. They also receive a welcome pack including croissants, fruit juice, milk, cereal, tea and coffee.

Vivo, the company set up by developers Newmason Properties to manage the hotel apartments, have achieved 93% occupancy for the last three months, have recently added meeting room facilities and are now working to bring on more apartments to meet growing demand.

Vivo manager Jo Brown, who has over 10 years’ hotel and leisure industry experience, said: “We have had a fantastic response from businesses like Pace Micro and Hallmark cards who are choosing to put visitors and staff into the 4-star apartments rather than hotels.

“Other recent guests have included scientists and academics visiting the University of Bradford, legal barristers, solicitors and international business visitors from the US, Sweden, India and Hong Kong.

“People say they like how cost effective and flexible we are, as well as the travel links and close proximity to Leeds and Bradford.

“The apartments are especially popular with clients staying for longer term business projects who prefer the luxury home-away-from-home feel to the sterile atmosphere of a hotel – many of whom have their families visit at weekends them at no extra cost.”
