A
leading manufacturer is bucking the trend of offshoring jobs, by transferring
jobs from Thailand to the UK.
Trumeter,
a world leading manufacturer of control systems for measuring water flow, is
moving work done by 60 Thai employees to a production line in Manchester.
Wage
costs in Thailand are less than a fifth of those in the UK, but the company
believes the move will make certain kinds of production more cost-effective.
