Airline company Virgin Atlantic
and its ad agency Barkers beat 19 other category winners at the annual
Recruitment Advertising Awards in London last night to take the coveted overall
prize.
Olympic gold medallist Matthew
Pinsent presented the award "Best Work of the Year" at the Grosvenor
House Hotel for the advertisement for a hair technician.
The judges described the ad
which won the general appointments category as having "universal
appeal". They added: "Good use of colour, visually arresting, and
supported by well written copy that entertains as well as sets out the details
of the job."
Redstone Telecom which used the
agency ThirtyThree Ltd won the Personnel and Training category with what the
judges described as an advertisement that was "well-worked and
consistent". It said it portrayed the company as a great place to work
without underplaying the seriousness of the task.
