I find it absolutely amazing that, as stated in your news story (see Three-quarters of HR managers see no link between their strategy and business goals, 24 March), three-quarters of HR managers do not see a link between ‘their’ HR strategy and the goals of the business.
If this really is the case, how do they determine what their strategy should be? How do these people know what they should be working on?
It can only be assumed that the function is operating in a reactive manner, and is really more of a personnel function than an HR one.
