Guru hears that the Internet has created a nation of stereotypes. Whether you’re a “digital man” or “nervous netty”, the Internet has got such a hold on us all apparently that a class system has evolved among its users.
Digital men are based in the south of England, change jobs frequently using the Internet and swan around the M25 in their Audi A8s.
Meanwhile, nervous netties – who are predominantly female – drive clapped-out Fiestas and distrust the Internet because of confidentiality issues. She seems quite harmless but Guru wonders how long it will be before digital man replaces “white van man” in the nation’s affections?
