Junior
doctors are being forced to lie about their working hours in an effort to
comply with EU rules, the British Medical Association claims.
The
association said new staff are being pressured by consultants to falsify time
sheets to show non-existent breaks.

The
EU sets junior doctors a maximum working week of 56 hours. It is claimed new
staff worked nine to five while NHS inspectors were around, but resumed long
hours as soon as the inspectors left.
