O2 seeks to fill 10 senior HR posts

The HR team at telecommunications giant O2 is set to expand even further this year as it looks to fill 10 senior HR positions, ranging from business partners to talent development consultants.

HR director Ann Pickering told Personnel Today some of the posts will help the company boost its Excellence in Line Management programme, which aims to develop leadership capabilities across O2. But some of the positions advertised are merely vacancies created by internal restructuring.

“The posts are a combination of extra jobs and replacements to existing positions,” she said. “The HR function at O2 is not changing as such.”

This July, O2 will gain a new group HR director, Simon Linares, who will be responsible for all the firm’s business outside Spain.

Meanwhile, the firm is set to cut 10% of its technology workforce this summer through a series of voluntary redundancies. It has just begun a 90-day consultation process with staff and unions over the redundancy process.
