Global travel group TUI Travel has appointed Jacky Simmonds as HR director, UK and Ireland. She is responsible for leading organisational development and working on the integration of the merged business, which includes First Choice and Thomson. Prior to that, Simmonds was HR director, mainstream sector, at First Choice.

Cluttons law firm has appointed Adrian Thornley as HR director. This position sits on the board for the first time. Thornley will be responsible for all areas of HR, including people management, development and rewards. Previously, he was head of HR at law firm EC Harris.
Distribution company MDA has appointed Kelley Spencer as HR manager. Her main role will be to manage the firm’s recruitment process, as well as people development, training and inductions. Spencer was previously HR manager at automotive company General Traffic.
