Retailer Peacocks is planning to open 30 new stores and create 500 jobs across the UK as part of a £21.5m expansion.
The discount fashion retailer, which first opened in Warrington in 1884, also plans to revamp 25 of its city stores.
Peacocks already has 430 stores across the country – 10 of which have opened since July 2006 – and employs 5,000 staff.
The growth programme includes plans to open stores in Cardiff, Manchester and Southampton.
The retail chain also has franchises in Turkey, the Middle East, Ukraine and Russia.
Peacocks managing director Tim Bettley said: “Our customers know that at Peacocks they can get the hottest fashion must-haves at the best prices on the high street. These investment plans will further endorse the fact that Peacocks is in vogue on every fashionable high street in Britain.”
