Job
prospects in London are the worst in the country, and are at the lowest level
since 1993.
The
latest Manpower quarterly survey of employment prospects shows that the
national outlook is steady compared to three years ago, but weaker than last
year.
Regionally,
London remains at the bottom of the table, with only 8 per cent of companies
saying they intend to take on more staff between July and September. Scotland
and the West and East Midlands top the ranking with more than 20 per cent
intending to hire.
Sectors
that performed strongly include hotels and restaurants, health, chemicals, and
defence, while transport, electronics and education all performed poorly.
