Post boxes closed as mail strike opens up

The
series of wildcat postal strikes in London have become so severe that post
boxes around the capital are being sealed up.

The
unofficial strikes have badly affected deliveries and the disruption could be
set to grow with postal workers in Coventry, Warrington, Maidstone, Essex and
Milton Keynes reportedly about to join the strike.

The
dispute began over demands for higher London weighting payments but has
escalated because of perceived victimisation of staff.

The
Communication Workers Unions (CWU) has accused the Royal Mail of bullying,
intimidation tactics and bias against workers who previously went on strike.
