Postal
workers are set to take industrial action after 95 per cent voted in favour of
a strike.
Members
of the Communication Workers Union (CWU) are protesting about plans to sell off
the Royal Mail’s cash handling business.
The
CWU has balloted 3,000 workers and will meet next week to set possible strike
dates which could be within weeks.
The
CWU claimed that the proposed sale to Securicor didn’t guarantee current
employment conditions.
