Oxford
University has suspended one of its professors for refusing to accept an
Israeli student’s application over the country’s treatment of Palestinians.
Professor
Andrew Wilkie, a doctor of pathology at the university, said that there was ‘no
way’ he could accept Amit Duvshani because he had served in the Israeli army.
A
disciplinary body suspended the professor and also ordered that he undergo
training in equal opportunities.

Sir
Colin Lucas, Oxford University’s vice-chancellor, said: "This ruling reflects
that there can be no place for discrimination within the University of
Oxford."
