Retailer
Argos is ready to review its policy of compulsory Sunday working for staff
after meeting with a top government minister.
Terry
Duddy, chief executive of Argos, agreed to the review after holding two
meetings with the Secretary of State for Scotland Helen Liddell.
Argos
will now open negotiations with the unions over the 11 female staff sacked for
refusing to sign contracts that would include Sunday working.
Argos
said it would not force employees to work on a Sunday if they objected on
religious grounds.
