RIU web site puts government reform in context

The Cabinet Office has launched a web site to highlight the role of its Regulatory Impact Unit (RIU), as part of its modernising government initiative.

The web site shows how the RIU works alongside other government departments in seeking to improve European legislation.

A key aim is to allow the public to access regulatory information. It also aims to highlight the role of the new Public Sector Team, which has been set up to cut bureaucracy in the public sector.

“The site will help businesses, the voluntary sector and the public sector to find out more about the Government’s programme of regulatory reform,” said regulatory minister Graham Stringer.
