J Sainsbury is stopping its Friday dress down policy once it moves
head office from Southwark to Holborn in September.
The end of the dress down policy, which was
introduced over a year ago, means that the 2,500 head office employees will
have to return to wearing business attire for the whole of the week.
A spokesperson for J Sainsbury explained that Friday,
Saturday, and Sunday is the busiest time for the 450 stores. “We don’t want to
give people in the stores the impression that head office is winding down just
as they’re gearing up,” he said.
