ScotRail strikes back on as talks break down

Rail
strikes are back on in Scotland after talks between unions and ScotRail broke
down.

The
two sides met under the eye of conciliation service Acas in a move to avoid
further industrial action, but the unions now claim the company made a lower
pay offer than one previously tabled.

Drivers
are set for a 24-hour walkout on Monday.

Previously,
Aslef said it was hopeful of a better offer following news that ScotRail is to
be given £70m of public money to help secure its future.
