Scotland’s
nursery nurses have overwhelmingly voted for indefinite strike action over fair
pay claims.
The
nursery nurses have been in dispute for nearly two years in support of a
national regrading claim and now 81 per cent have voted in favour of industrial
action.
Their
pay has not been reviewed for 15 years and a basic grade nursery nurse earns
only £10,000 a year at the beginning of their career.
The
union Unison, which is organising the strike, said the nurses deserved to have
their pay increased and that increase should be applied across Scotland.
