An analysis of group income protection claims by insurer Legal & General has identified cardiovascular disease to be highest among employees working in the general manufacturing sector.
The analysis of claims since 2000 found that, of the five industries with the highest number of cardiovascular claims, manufacturing was the largest, representing 43% of those claims.
The wholesale trade came out lowest (7%), with service industries on 25%, finance, insurance and real estate on 15%, and transport, communication and utilities on 10%.
