Government is launching five new skills councils in the New Year as part of its
drive to close the productivity gap between the UK and its major competitors.

new organisations will encourage employers to invest in the training and
development of their workforce.
The councils will work to improve training the retailing,
farming, broadcasting, textiles and petrochemicals sectors.
