Glass manufacturer Pilkington has signed a deal with online learning firm SkillSoft to provide training for 500 IT staff worldwide.
The deal is part of a wider three-year contract worth nearly £380,000 to supply business, management, health and safety and IT training across its 24,000-strong workforce.
Pilkington IT staff will be given access to 1,500 courses that form part of SkillSoft’s Skillchoice IT training package, covering software development, operating systems, servers, networks, enterprise data systems, web design and project effectiveness.
Joanne Buckley, service improvement manager for Pilkington’s IS group, said the training package would be used to achieve a balance of skills in each country.
