Aeroplane refuellers at Gatwick airport have threatened to strike after they failed to have their trade union status recognised.
The Transport and General Workers’ Union (T&G) has informed Gatwick Refuelling Services of its intention to ballot for strike action.
Although it only has 15 employees, the firm services many airlines including British Airways, American Airlines, Virgin Atlantic and Delta.

T&G regional industrial organiser said: “Our members at Gatwick Refuelling Services are clear that they want to have their union formally recognised for the purposes of negotiations on the whole range of issues affecting them in the workplace.
“Such is their determination, they are prepared to vote on strike action to pursue their claim.”
