Fewer
companies plan to cut staff levels over the next three months, than in the last
financial quarter, according to research published today by recruitment group
Reed.
Out
of more than 1,100 organisations surveyed, just seven per cent are planning to
downsize over the next three months – down from 8 per cent for the previous
quarter.
While
redundancy levels are slowing, expansion plans are continuing at the same level
as last quarter, with 37 per cent of UK firms predicting an increase in staff
numbers in the second quarter of 2003.Â
