The
CBI and law firm Hammond Suddards Edge have published a guide for businesses
which have a legal responsibility to offer stakeholder pensions.
The
pamphlet outlines the steps employers should take to comply with new rules that
come into effect on Monday, 8 October.
It
will help employers decide whether stakeholder pensions affect them and prepare
for the October deadline.
The
guide will also help firms select a pensions scheme provider, consult employees
effectively and comply with the stakeholder regime efficiently.
The
government hopes people earning between £10,000 and £20,000 will take out
stakeholder pensions to encourage them to provide for their own retirement.
