Most organisations have had to deal with incidents concerning illegal or inappropriate images in the workplace, according to a recent survey.
Of the 200 organisations questioned by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and soft-ware security firm PixAlert, 70% had dealt with such cases.
However, 54% of the senior managers surveyed were unaware they could be held criminally liable on the grounds of neglecting to manage content – including images – on company computers.
Although the greatest future risk is perceived to come from internet and e-mail applications, respondents also expect an increased risk of images being loaded on to company computers from technology, such as 3G phones.
