The HR chief at an IT outsourcing firm is bringing home its Mumbai-based UK workers following the terrorist attack on the Indian city that has left scores of people dead.
Capgemini has contacted all its UK staff currently working in Mumbai to ensure they are safe, and has offered them all the opportunity to return home as swiftly as possible.
Robert Ingram, vice-president of HR at Capgemini, told Personnel Today's sister title Computer Weekly: "Until further notice nobody goes to or via Mumbai [on Capgemini business]. We are helping people leave quickly and some are now leaving early."
Capgemini also said it was helping Indian staff based in the UK who were concerned about the welfare of their families.
Indian outsourcing company Satyam has also checked on its Mumbai-based employees, and has tightened security at all of its locations.
