Tesco vows to distribute religious knowledge to UK workforce

Tesco will be issuing religious toolkits to its employees throughout its UK stores from May this year, the supermarket giant has announced.


The guides are designed to improve employee knowledge and understanding of all religions and their corresponding festivals, daily routines and eating habits.

The toolkits will include a calendar outlining the festivals and days of importance across the major UK religions. At key events, separate leaflets giving further details will be distributed to targeted areas.


Leonie Morris, head of diversity at Tesco, said: “It is our aim to ensure that our colleagues and customers feel welcome at Tesco. We believe that this calendar will contribute to all of our colleagues and customers being better understood and supported.”
