Tube workers have voted to start industrial action next week
over a safety dispute between London Underground and unions.
A 50 per cent turn out by RMT union returned a vote
resoundingly in favour of industrial action.
“Our members have said loud and clear that they are not
prepared to sit back and see London Underground go the way of the National Rail
Network with all the disastrous consequences that has had for passengers and
employees alike,” said Bob Crow, assistant general secretary of RMT.
The first of the one-day strikes will be on 5 February, and
will continue on the following two Mondays.
