UK business leaders unfazed by ageism

The
majority of UK professionals are unconcerned about the prevalence of ageism in
the workplace, a new survey has claimed.

A
poll of 264 business leaders found that while 68 per cent acknowledged ageism
existed, just nine per cent said it had affected them personally.

The
survey by recruitment firm Macildowie found that 63 per cent of respondents
thought that maturity was actually an advantage in the jobs market.

Only
15 per cent felt that proposed ageism legislation would directly improve the
prospects of older workers.
