Only
51 per cent of work-time in the UK is productive, compared to 63 per cent in
Germany and 62 per cent in the US.
A
new study of seven major world economies finds that only South Africa on 46 per
cent, has productivity levels worse than the UK.
The
research, by Proudfoot Consulting, looked at 1,357 detailed studies of
companies and an opinion poll of 2,700 business leaders.
According
to the study, well-managed companies should be able to achieve productivity levels
of 85 per cent.
Insufficient
planning and control were listed as the major factors holding organisations
back. Other factors included inadequate management, poor morale and IT problems. www.proudfootconsulting.com
