One
in four Europeans fall asleep at work, with British workers being the most
likely culprits.
Roughly
35 per cent of UK employees have fallen asleep at work, with 20 per cent
dropping off at their desks and 9 per cent dozing during meetings, according to
a survey of more than 21,000 Europeans by recruitment website Monster.
Hernan
Daguerre, director of communications at Monster Europe, says companies should
be aware of how dozy workers can affect productivity.
“Sleepy
workers are a pricey expense for businesses, since their productivity and the
quality of their work is affected,” he said.
Daguerre
thinks employers should ensure employees take proper breaks during the day
instead.
