‘Pulling
a sickie’ increases the chances of you losing your job, a new survey reveals.
One
in seven (15 per cent) UK employers are using absence records to help them
choose which employees to make redundant, according to Employee Benefits
magazine.
In
all, 14 per cent of employers believe their staff view allotted sickness
absence limits as an entitlement to time off work.
Other
findings include:

24 per cent of employers do not know how much sickness absence is costing them

79 per cent of UK employers monitor the causes of sickness absence

The percentage of staff who routinely pull a sickie because they believe they
are entitled to sick leave has dropped from 21 per cent two years ago to 14 per
cent this year.
