Hundreds
of jobs, including some in the HR function, are likely to be cut at consumer
goods giant Unilever after plans to integrate three UK
business units were announced.
The
company has already admitted that its restructuring would lead to job losses,
and failed to rule out compulsory redundancies.
Reports
say all three businesses will retain their marketing and sales staff, but more
administrative functions will be transferred to a central location. HR, IT and
finance functions are expected to be among those in the firing line.
Unilever’s
businesses in the UK
are Lever Faberge, Unilver Bestfoods and former Birds Eye
brand Unilever Ice Cream and Frozen Foods.
